Help & FAQ
Answers to the questions people actually ask. Can't find yours? Email us.
Which names are free, and which cost money?
Any name with a hyphen is free — like add.my/my-cool-shop or add.my/blog-2024. Names without a hyphen (a single word like add.my/coffee, or letters and numbers like add.my/shop22) are paid, because only one person can have each of them. Prices are on the pricing section of our homepage, and searching a name at hitch.top/check shows its exact price before you buy.
Why does a single word cost money?
A single word (add.my/coffee, add.my/bloom) is a scarce, memorable name — only one organization can hold it at a time. Words are priced by how in-demand they are, and a few Signature names cost more on the domain where they read best (like with.my/love). Your first paid name may come with a free trial: checkout shows how long it lasts, nothing is charged until it ends, and you can cancel before then under Brands. Search any name at hitch.top/check to see its exact price before buying.
In add.my/abc/xyz, what am I paying for?
Only the first part — abc, your name. Everything after the slash (abc/xyz, abc/sale, abc/menu…) is free and unlimited once the name is yours. If abc has a hyphen (my-shop/xyz) the whole thing is free. When you type a name with a slash, the create box shows which part is charged, and the names you already have are one tap away.
What happens to a protected brand name like add.my/nike?
A curated list of well-known trademarks is reserved and not available for self-serve purchase, so the product can’t be used to impersonate a brand that isn’t yours. If you believe a name should be reserved (or that a reservation is a mistake), email hello@hitch.top.
What is a Social Link?
One username, redirect links for all major social platforms at add.my/{platform}/{username} — set it up once in Settings → Social Links instead of registering a different link per platform. A Social Links subscription claims the username and makes the links work; the current price is on our homepage and in Settings → Social Links.
What is a bio page?
Turn any link into a Linktree-style profile page instead of a plain redirect: an avatar, a title, a list of link buttons (with drag-to-reorder, section headers, and video embeds), and a customizable theme. Turn it on from that link’s settings.
How do I report a link that looks abusive or unsafe?
Every short link and every bio page has a "Report" link in its footer, or use hitch.top/report. Reports go to a moderation queue that a human reviews — you don’t need an account to file one.
Can I cancel a paid word or Social Links subscription?
Yes, any time, from Settings → Billing. You keep it until the end of the period you paid for. After that, a purchased word is released for anyone else to buy. Social Links redirects stop working, and we keep your username for 15 days in case you change your mind.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
Yes, within 14 days of buying (or of a yearly renewal). Use “Withdraw from contract here” on Settings → Billing: it ends right away and we refund what you paid minus the days you used it. During a free trial nothing has been charged, so nothing is owed. After 14 days you can still cancel at any time; you keep it until the end of the period you paid for.
Do redirects actually happen at the edge, or through a slow central server?
Redirects run on Cloudflare’s edge network, cached in Cloudflare KV — typically well under 15ms, from whichever data center is closest to the visitor, not a single origin server.
